Portraits are taken in both color and black + white and includes both film and digital formats. All portrait sessions are on-location and can be indoors or outdoors. I am not a traditional photographer. My photography style is natural portraiture. I like to capture peoples feelings. I like to take fun, creative, artistic, and candid types of pictures. I like to bring out the best in each person, and I will help capture your individual style and personality. Portrait sessions are ideal for couples, families, children, babies, maternity and even pets are welcome.
Before your session....
Once a day and time have been arranged, I will either email or call to confirm your session. The best time of day for outdoor photo sessions are morning or late afternoon. The best conditions are overcast skies. Taking photos in bright, direct sunlight should be avoided due to harsh lighting, too much contrast and shadows. Payment is due in full at the completion of the session.
During your session...
Upon arrival, I will do my best to find an area that will provide the best lighting for your session. Wearing white or black tops are very flattering especially for black and white photos. I would also recommend bright colors or whatever is complimentary to your skin tone. Busy patterns should be avoided because they distract from your face.
After your session...
Photos will be posted within 1 week for online viewing. You have up to 2 weeks to place your order. Once your order is placed, please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your prints. (Larger prints might have a longer wait time).
Capturing the magic of your day. Providing memories that you will cherish forever. My goal is to create photographs that touch something deep inside the viewer, that capture the personality of the subject and that are beautiful and classic. I cover all traditional, photojournalistic, artistic, and candid styles of photography.
My job is to give your memories to you in pictures, to photograph the story of your wedding day. To capture the romance, excitement and true emotions of the day. I will take posed pictures, but ultimately I capture the bride/groom and the entire event in a candid, spontaneous fashion.
Inital meeting...
When we arrange a meeting, it is best for both the bride and groom to attend. Come with a list of questions. I will provide you with a folder of information, including a contract and wedding picture list. You can go over everything in your own time and mail it back with your retainer of $250. This is non-fundable and will go toward your final balance. Feel free to add your own ideas to the list of pictures. I cannot guarantee I will get everything on that list, but I will do my best. I will also bring a portfolio for you to view. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to the ceremony.
Follow-up...
I will contact you when I have received payments and also to confirm all the details. I will mail you a copy of the contract.
At the wedding...
My style is to take candid type pictures and not be obtrusive. I like to capture real moments and feelings. I prefer a photojournalistic style of wedding photography. I will also take the "formal" pictures that are requested. However, family and friends are welcome to take pictures as long as they do not interfere with what I am doing. My goal is to get everyone to focus on me and not be distracted with others taking pictures. If this happens, then I will not allow anyone else to take photos at this time. This is because I have been hired as the official photographer and it is my job to provide you with great photos.
Afterwards...
Please allow up to 3 weeks for prints to be received. I will post some highlights in an online gallery within 1 week for you to share with family and friends. You will receive all the final images in an album.
